(10) The Jerusalem UFO - January 28th, 2011
On a cold January night, multiple reports surfaced of a bright, glowing object hovering over the Dome of the Rock, a significant religious site in the Old City of Jerusalem. Eyewitnesses described seeing an orb, which was captured from multiple angles, showcasing the object stopping and then shooting off at incredible speed. While the exact sources of the footage remain unknown, and some speculate it might be a hoax, the multiple perspectives and the object's behaviour make this a significant case in UFOlogy. Its historic position in UFOlogy and the lack of a suitable debunk keeps it firmly in our top ten.
(9) Jorge A. Arteaga’s UFO - November 4th, 2015
Pilot Jorge A. Arteaga recorded this footage while flying over Antioquia, Colombia. At 12,500 feet, Arteaga's Cessna encountered a strange object that moved erratically. Captured on his iPhone, the footage shows an oval-shaped, shiny object that changed speed and direction unpredictably. Arteaga's detailed description and the clear video quality suggest it wasn't a balloon, drone, or airplane. This video stands out for its credibility and the pilot’s firsthand account.

During the STS-75 mission of the space shuttle Columbia, a 12-mile-long electrically conductive tether broke and drifted away. NASA attributed the visible objects to ice particles and space debris. The National Police Air Service recorded this 8-minute video over the Bristol Channel, United Kingdom. Initially tweeted with a playful alien emoji, the full 8 minute footage, released under the Freedom of Information Act, shows an unidentified object in the night sky. The police clarified that the video was recorded an hour later than the timestamp indicated, ensuring it was pitch black at the time and wasn’t picked up by the Air Traffic Control.
(3) Aguadilla UFO - April 25th, 2013
This thermal imaging video was recorded by a U.S. Customs and Border Protection aircraft near Rafael Hernandez Airport in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. The footage shows an object splitting into two and dipping into the water, appearing to maintain speed, a manoeuvre no known aircraft can perform. This video is widely regarded as one of the most compelling UFO recordings.
(2) Gimble UFO - January 21st, 2015
Initially leaked and later declassified by the Pentagon in 2017, this footage was captured by Navy pilots. The object, lacking discernible wings or tail, rotates in mid-air against strong winds with no visible means of propulsion. The infrared signatures indicate heat emission, but the thermal characteristics differ from known aircraft. This official acknowledgment by the Pentagon adds significant weight to its authenticity.
(1) Kumburgaz UFO - 2007-2009
Filmed by Yalcin Yalman, this footage from a beach in Kumburgaz, Turkey, has never been properly debunked. Professor Zeki EKER of the Turkish National Observatory analysed the footage, confirming it was genuine and not a model or special effect. The footage, showing the object against the moonlight, is extensive and continues to be a subject of intense study. We tracked him down almost 18 years later and interviewed him on the UPA Files Podcast with his interpreter. His story was fantastic and confirmed a lot of unknown details about this significant case from history. Yalman’s predictions about future sightings add an extra layer of intrigue.
