At least in the West, “hard proof” remains the accepted standard. The challenge is that some aspects of the phenomenon resist our existing frameworks for what counts as proof. Some are profoundly strange, while others are deeply personal. Breaking the stigma is the first step.
The harder question is how to do that after decades of psychological abuse and manipulation of the public.

The point is, we have to cease depending on our government to do...anything, and even then we have to question how they handle it, without politics, lies, or hidden agendas. I've tried for a very long time to be as informed as possible, including all points of view and ideas. I've been doing this...since 1968. I'm also an experiencer, whatever that means. Time slips, UFOs, precognition...and so much else. I'm not ready to say what it all is. I'm also hear to listen to others. and learn.
I think once people start talking about these things we will see how common they are. In group settings I have always found it fascinating that there is a kind of economy of empathy. In small group settings I have found that once one person tells their stories of time slips, missing time, sightings or precognition, others gain the courage to tell their personal story.
The stories are always strange, and nearly every time, someone driven by their own discomfort asks the same absurd question in a dozen different forms: “Are you sure your experience is real?” The way that moment is handled often shapes the rest of the conversation. I have watched this happen countless times with friends and colleagues, though never with family. In my experience, family tends to share these things more openly, though I know that is not true for everyone.
Back to the economy of empathy, I have often wondered what would happen if more people took the risk to share their stories now that the public (at least for the moment) seems more open to approaching the subject matter in a way I have rarely seen. Now having watched Disclosure Day my opinion of it has changed. For many that have never been exposed to this information this could serve as a curiosity catalyst. They will talk about it, perhaps now they will find the courage to reevaluate that thing they have been trying to push out of their mind for years.
“Remember summer camp 1982, remember what we saw that night?”, “Why did it take so long to get home?”, “Why do I not remember how we got back home?” Some will become quickly distracted; others will probe the subject deeper. Some will soon lose interest as popularity of the film subsides, for others, they may finally begin their own journey of discovery.
All in all, I would say the film is a positive work that offers a plea for global empathy. It is a small yet meaningful step forward for the human race. Its most poignant moment comes in the final message, “Don’t be afraid of what you don’t know.”
I began sharing a long time ago...I've had people tell me things that they've told no one. It's like a weight comes off their shoulders just by telling their story. I'm a 'safe space' for others. I've been interviewed several times too. I have NEVER been afraid of what I don't know, because I am so darn curious. I'm an avid learner. I want to know, and understand more. At one time, I decided to research everything Whitley Strieber had claimed, involving interactions with NHI, with an open mind.
